Part 1 : Building a water block form scratch
This article shows how I went about making my own Socket A water block.
My aim was to build a block using both aluminum and copper. The most part of the block is built from aluminum as aluminum is a nice cheap metal, readily available and is easy to work with. Also I wanted to combine a small amount of copper as copper has excellent heat conductivity and heat transfer.
As I am writing this my project is under going lots of enhancements, such as adding a HQ Holden heatercore, building a separate box to house the water cooling components and making a radiator shroud.
Processor information : 1000Mhz AMD Athlon Thunder Bird, AXIA stepping A1000AMT3C AXIA0116GPEW 95280451934 So far overclocked to 1400Mhz @ 1.85 Volts, MAX Overclock: 1485Mhz
